Get to know me
Hi, I’m Doménica Bernetti.
I was born in Quito, Ecuador, and raised in Santiago de Chile, between the peaks of the Andes that still echo in my work today. Photography and makeup became my way of weaving stories, connecting identity with emotion. I studied Visual Arts at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and later trained in Art Direction, earned a certificate in Photography at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, and completed my Makeup Artistry studies at Beauty Point in Chile. For me, art has always been about belonging, finding fragments of ourselves in light, color, and the face of another.
These experiences have deepened my understanding of portraiture, allowing me to connect with people and capture their essence in unique and meaningful ways. For me, every project is a chance to blend technical skill with creativity, crafting images that truly resonate.
However, professionalism is not everything in life. I consider myself a creative soul with a curious mind, someone who has always loved exploring countless paths and hobbies. For a long time, that made me feel insecure, like I could never “stick with one thing.” Over time, I transformed that curiosity into one of my greatest strengths: a multidisciplinary vision that lets me see how different pieces fit together and enrich my work.
Fashion has always been a source of inspiration for me, and moving to New York City marked a turning point, placing me at the heart of a city where creativity thrives in endless forms. I am equally passionate about music, and I find joy in translating sound into images. That is why photographing concerts, or simply being in the energy of live music, is one of the most fulfilling experiences in my practice.
Beyond my roles as a photographer and makeup artist, I am deeply drawn to yoga, a practice I’ve been integrating into my life and that now shapes the way I see the world. It teaches me presence, compassion, and the understanding that we are all connected. When I photograph or portray someone, I do it with that same sense of love and unity, you are me, and I am you. Through my work, I hope to share that feeling of collective consciousness with the people I collaborate with.
